HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS

  • Please use pencil.
  • Remember to write your name.
  • Follow the directions.
  • Use your best handwriting.  Make sure you use the top, middle, & base lines.
  • Try your best to spell your words. 
  • Have your Homework Helper check your homework.

READING Homework

  • You will bring home a just-right book to read every night. 
  • If it’s a short book, try to reread it (2 or 3 times).
  • If it’s a long book, you can read half and read the rest of it for homework the next day.
  • If it’s a chapter book, read 1 chapter a night.
  • After reading your book, answer the question on the reading response worksheet.  The question should be familiar to you.  It matches the strategy we learned in class that day.
  • Remember to take care of your book.  If your book gets lost or damaged, please send $5 to get your book replaced.

 

SHARED READING Homework (Reading Street)

  • You will work on the Story of the Week every night.
  • You can choose from the following activities.

 

WORD STUDY Homework

  • Monday – CHOICE (please see link)
  • Tuesday – SORT
  • Wednesday – WRITING SORT (worksheet)
  • THURSDAY – BLIND SORT (worksheet - similar to a practice spelling test)

 

MATH Homework

  • —Complete the 2-sided math worksheet.
